ABOUT THE STUDIO
LOV Films is a wedding film studio founded and led by husband and wife Pablo and Mari, with Costa Rica at the heart of the studio’s wedding season from November through April, followed by boutique international celebrations from May through October.
While LOV Films works across both photography and film in Costa Rica, international celebrations are primarily focused on filmmaking, with photography available for select weddings.
Pablo and Mari both serve as lead filmmakers, sharing the same visual language and documentary approach. After years of working closely together, either can lead a celebration with the same care, intention, and creative consistency that defines the studio.
Married since 2020 and with more than 100 weddings documented, their experience as a couple has shaped the way they approach each celebration, with a deep appreciation for connection, emotion, and the meaning behind the day.
Each wedding is thoughtfully assigned by the studio based on the needs of the event, location, logistics, creative direction, and availability. Trusted filmmakers join the team when needed, always sharing the studio’s approach.
PABLO
Founder & Lead Filmmaker
When he’s not filming weddings, Pablo is usually focused on editing, color, cameras, music, and all things analog. He enjoys shaping the final look and feel of each film, experimenting with visual ideas, and refining the studio’s overall creative direction.
Outside of work, he’s probably making coffee, playing music, or looking for another camera he definitely doesn’t need.

When she’s not filming weddings, Mari is often focused on editing, production, communication, and shaping the story behind each project. She plays a key role in organizing the details, refining the narrative, and making sure each celebration feels thoughtful from beginning to end.
Outside of work, she loves plants, fashion, design, discovering new places, and anything with a strong sense of aesthetics.

ULA on 16mm
Ula does not attend weddings, but she runs just about everything else. She is there for long editing days, occasionally joins video calls, and keeps Pablo and Mari grounded through emotional support, quality control, and strategic naps. She also makes sure they never forget who actually owns LOV Films.
Every film is edited and finished in-house, with final quality assurance overseen by these very small paws. Everything is crafted by hand with intention, patience, and a lot of love.

LOV Films believes the best moments happen naturally. The studio keeps things simple with minimal gear, natural light, and a relaxed presence that allows couples to stay fully present in the moment. The focus is always on real emotion over posed perfection, from the quiet jitters and first looks to the tears, laughter, and everything in between.
Whether captured digitally or on analog film, the goal is to create wedding films that feel honest, personal, and true to the people in them. Each format brings its own texture and character, coming together to preserve the feeling of the day in a timeless and deeply personal way.
